Mary Blair Study!
here's my small study of a MB concept painting, that I actually did back in 2003. I toned down the harsh yellows and unmixed blues. Color has always been one of my strengths. I hope to find some more studies lying around this joint.
Lovely Marlo! Look at those gorgeous brush strokes in the sky. The Art and Flair of Mary Blair book has gotta be one of my favorite books EVER! Back in 2003 I did a paint study of one of her Peter Pan paintings for an art class.
Every young cartoonist pretends to like Mary Blair, but you're actually one of the few artists who does the style well. Everyone else thinks they can just draw everything flat, but you've actually put thought and composition into the drawing.
Approvingly your article helped me truly much in my college assignment. Hats high to you enter, wish look ahead for the duration of more interdependent articles in a jiffy as its united of my favourite issue to read.
Hey Kristen! Thanks! Yes that is exactly where I got the image from, back when there wasn't much online. You should post your study! Isn't this big enough? It's not a large study.
Thank you Jorge, I actually did look at other studies before I did mine, making sure I added all the missing techniques. I totally prefer her concept pieces for their fluidity.
Oh I just realized that the pencil shows up under my lights! cant even see it normally. oh well, enjoy anywayz
