Your Sokol studies are awesome, I totally want to paint now. I like how they're still in Marlo colors.

  11. Nicely painted. The girl's right arm is a little undefined and hard to read (especially before it's enlarged), but it's certainly better than I can do.

    Well done.

  12. Nice work, Marlo!
Do you ever look at the work of Lisa Yuskavage? If you haven't, I feel like you'd like her. She's a personal favorite of mine.

  13. Hey Beth! I've looked at Lisa's work a long time ago, but thanks, it was worth a revisit.

  16. These are awesome studies. This second one is phenomenal (first one is good too!).
cool take on the color palette while maintaining the designs and composition. Sokol rules.

  18. my best friiends sister worked at playboy in the advertising department for years-at a young age my friend got a free subscription to playboy-making him the coolest kid in the hood, i got used to everything, and i mean everything, playboy had to offer from the mid seventies til the mid eighties, i got bored with the playmates, started really getting into the artwork, the playboy funnies. one year, on my birthday, my friends sister got me these large panels of playboy cartoons-after they printed of course-about seven sheets-representing all the different artist that contributed-it wasnt signed or anything but i didnt care-they were copies-but i was still floored-best gift ever!! all ruined in an apartment flood-never got over it! nice to see them again here.
