So you're pretty and you draw neat pictures, but what else do you do?
Or is it just those two all day?

Hey girlie-you're the talk of the studio round my neck of the woods...much appreciation has been expressed for your work and your stunningness.
I've posited that your beauty may be the only thing that's saved you a tremendous beating at more than one bar mitzvah, given the deep cuts your subjects receive at your hands!
Now, this here is you in sweet mode, still killer. And your guys' stuff sure does look right together.

Jenny, ha thanks for the compliment. Katie and I have completely different styles! but this drawing came out funny and looking pretty good.

I'm telling you. There needs to be a cartoon series called Marlo & Katie! Both your styles and your charicatures of each other mesh so well.

I like how they have such a strong attachment to one another and if you took her guy away, she would lose part of her head. Some couples!

What's that on the guy's chin!? It can't be what I think it is!

Gabriel said...

I'd never ever do that, I'd end up ruining the other person's drawing in the end!

The composition here is stunning!

Green hair's trumpet nose and shaving bump covered pooninny chin draws our eyes right across the paper toward the bucktoothed buxom's boobs!
And just in case our eyes should wander, his 'greater than' adam's apple assures us, "you should be looking to the right."

Fantastic! :)

I love chlorophyllic hair! These remind me of an alternate universe Owen Wilson and Björk on a farrrr away planet! That is, a planty planet where clefts are prominent, and noses aren't smooshed?

Hey Marlo--this is me, other (LA)Jenny. : )

Darling, WHEN will you make with the updates? I know, I know--at your tender age you have a LIFE, but still..! It's just tootoo frustrating! We want to see more Marlo!

Hmmm...I can't see where to email you so I'll answer the your query on me blog:
I got into storyboarding after 3 years and going into much debt at Calarts(which I loved, whatever John may say about it--and Eddie taught there once himself, I'm sure had a big impact--anyway); got my first job at Warner Bros in '89 and did character layout(which was based on--who else? The Bakshi Mighty Mouse production model). I barely knew what I was doing...I started segue-ing into cleaning up boards(including Eddie's and Chris Reccardi's), then did little bits o'boarding myself, then after about 2 years got to take on whole segments of shows. I loved it, but I hated seeing poor stuff come back from overseas when we had killer artists doing such beautiful drawings here--Bruce Timm, Fontanelli, Eddie, Lynne, Jim Smith, etc.etc. It was disheartening and I craved going into features, telling longer-format stories, not working from a script, pitching the old-fashioned way(seldom done in TV then--except for Spumco, I guess)...so in '94 I left WB for feature stuff and I've never looked back. And that's how I got into storyboarding. Do you have an interest? I see you as a visdev artist, for sure and certain. Development exploratory stuff, fooling around having a ball. : )

Love your violent yet elegant shapes.
Its also quite rare to see a female artist whose art that matches physical beauty.

Daniel said...

Cool picture, why don't you post the rest of your collaborations?

Fabián Fucci said...

Hi there, first time here and I love it! This is a really cool place for colorful art. I liked everything I saw, even if I have no clear idea about what is really going on around. Keep on with this art!
